Burton Family Reunion in Clear Creek

C and my mom. He sure loves her.
My nephew and twin cousins. Livin' large.
O is such a little runway model. She poses for the camera non stop.
M holding her cousins lizard he caught. By the way him and M said they lizards are scared of cameras.

M is such a little tease. She was chasing him around with mud on her hands. What a little stink.

Island Park

Dang JC and Steph have a ton of kids.... j/k half are ours

We went to Island Park with my family and had a ball. The kids were in seventh heaven because they got to play with their cousins non stop for three days. We ate great food. Put a ton of miles on the Ranger, 4-Wheeler and the UTV thing that my brother and sister-in-law brought up that I can't remember the name of. We almost rode from Island Park down to Mesa Falls but when the trail went around an old train tunnel and it looked like the Ranger wasn't going to fit I got sacredy cat and wouldn't let J take it around cause I thought it was going to roll. The next day we set out and rode to West Yellowstone. It was a lot of fun. I think that my family probably thinks I am a overprotective parent that is sacred of everything, but I guess I am. When they were doing crazy little tricks with the kids on the UTV and 4-Wheelers I got kind of nervous. We made it to West Yellowstone and watched the Yellowstone movie at the IMAX. When we got out it was a down pour. After a few minutes it quit raining so we ran out and got moving back to Island Park. The rain held off the whole way home. My girls looked like they had gotten chicken pox because it was mosquito valley in Island Park. I know this doesn't sound possible but I think there were more mosquitos there than in Thatcher. Go figure. Sunday we cleaned up and headed home. J had asked the girls if they wanted to go on a field trip. They said sure so he was going to head home through Yellowstone and then go through Jackson Hole. About 10 miles up the road M reminded her dad that he was going to take them to Bear World so we turned around and headed back to Rexburg. We did stop to see Mesa Falls and then made the trip to Bear World. All J wanted to see during the trip was a bear, but the closest we got to a bear was at Bear World. The kids loved it and C thought the baby bears were dogs. He kept saying Dah. Which he says when ever he sees a dog. Poor C was tired though by the time we got back in the Tahoe and he was not too happy to be sitting again in his carseat.

The biggest crack up was all we want to see were some wild life. We did see an antelope but that is not so cool. We get home and I was reading a bed time story to the girls when I heard J yelling at us. I couldn't figure out what was wrong. We ran outside and I'll be darned there was a moose running through our field in our backyard. Crazy huh!

Of course I was not fast enough to get the pic when she was on our property, this is the field next door she jump over the fence and was headed south. I think it was the same moose they caught two days later walking down Washington Blvd in Ogden.

Early Father's Day

We gave J his Father's Day present early since we are heading to Island Park and I didn't want to lug it around and to just turn around and lug it back after giving it to him on Sunday. So we gave it to him early. We got him a little canopy/tent thing that we can take camping/boating/whereever so we can have shade or he can cook under it. I think he liked it. But that is not what I was most excited about. I made him this Father's Day card (more like a scrapbook page). I thought it turned out nicely. We love and appreciate all that he does for us!

Almost 11 Months

Yikes!!! C is almost 11 months old. He has grown so much and is cruising around like crazy. He still doesn't know about the actual walking bit but he does like walking around furniture. I had to take him to the doctor a month ago and he weighed 18.6 lbs and was 28.5" long. He is kind of a skinny mini but he seems so stout. He is average height for his age. He has six teeth (two just have broken through lately). His hair is starting to really fill in. He loves being outside with his dad. And LOVES (I cannot emphasize that enough) riding on the Ranger. He loves his "da" which I think is dog. And the little stink says Daddadddaa all the time and only Mammmaaaa when he wants out of the high chair, playpen, stroller, or crib. He has started getting a little attitude and is learning to throw a fit with the best of them. Here are some random pictures of him:

The other day he was in his playpen just babbling to himself on his back looking at his book. What a cute little man. We love him so much!

T-Ball

I have come to the decision that the Tremonton Parks & Recreation needs to schedule the games on a weekly basis depending on the weather report for that week. Oh my heavens, I am not complaining about the wonderful rain we have received but man it sure likes to down pour on the days the kids' games are schedule. Oh well at least it is not 110 degees yet!

The kids are having a ball playing. Justin Roche is their coach and has done a great job. He has really tried to help the kids learn to play ball - complete with the stance and all! The poor guy has his work cut out for him. A couple of the kids on the team all dive for the ball when it is hit then they roll around fighting (good fighting, I guess) and giggling over who gets the ball. They are sure cute. The girls have only had a couple issues. During the game I took these pictures at it was the last batter and M was on 2nd and O on 1st. They were suppose to run around the bases, well M didn't think O should have ran so they got in a little quarrel out on 2nd base. It was funny.

They have really picked up on hitting the ball harder and yesterday's game they both had some good hits. We are really proud of them and hope they are enjoying it as much as we are watching them!

M's Preschool Graduation

M has officially graduated from preschool. Ms. Nicole's Preschool held graduation on May 20th. I am a little slow posting, sorry. Both of the girls attended Ms. Nicole's for two years each. Both girls have absolutely adored Ms. Nicole. She is such a wonderful teacher (and photographer, too!). She has been so good to our kids and we thank her for that. M had kindergarten round up in March and when she went in to get tested on the ABC's she told the lady testing as the lady would hold up the card and ask what letter it was - M would say, "I dunno." with a shrug of the shoulders and a big smile on her face. Well after the round up, she had preschool that day and I told her teacher and M ended up having to do a little ABC boot camp. She really did know her letters and her sounds. She just knows the sounds of each letter a little better than the name of the letter. M has always looked forward to Tuesdays and Thursdays when she would get to go to Ms. Nicole's. Graduation was great and all the kids did wonderful. I was able to ask Alyssa Simmons to come over and work her magic and M looked adorable with her curly hair. Thanks Alyssa! M even got to sit by her "boyfriend Jaxton." We all got a kick out of her flirting with him during the program. When it came to pass out the dipolmas M ended up being the last one up there. Mom and Dad gave M some flowers. She thought she was pretty cool. I would definitely recommend her preschool!!! M asked yesterday when she could go back to see Ms. Nicole. What a positive impact she left on our kids lives!!! Thanks Ms. Nicole for doing such a wonderful job teaching our kids!

Dinosaur Park

We went to the Dinosaur Park on Tuesday. It was a lot of fun. I wasn't planning on going but the weather was just about perfect so I thought we didn't have anything better to do so why not. It is a lot better going when it is say only 72 degrees verus the 100 degree weather we had the last time the girls and I went. The kids were really well behaved and that was definitely a plus. C was really good too. I kind of think he even liked the dinosaurs. And because I had not planned on going... I didn't have my camera to capture any pictures. But the kids had a really good time.

Grateful for the ability to fight

Today we ran to Logan to do a little grocery shopping. After I decided to take the kids to the Fun Park to run around on the big toy thing they have there. For the first time I realized that I am thankful for our abilities to fight. I know that sounds weird, but as the kids were playing I noticed that there were alot of kids there with special needs. I think they were on a field trip or something. I know that I have been very blessed to have healthy kids but as I watched and was holding C and he was wiggling, fighting me, trying to get down and whining I had to stop and think how thankful I am that he (and the girls) can wiggle, fight, and whine at me. I know that those children with special needs have such strong spirits even if they can't physically/mentally be strong. I know that we are very blessed to have our children and have them for the most part be healthy and happy. Now I am going to go help them fold the laundry and I am sure they will probably fight me tooth and nail but this time I am going to be thankful for it.
